Hello! I’m Deborah Revels. I am excited to welcome clients at Positive Steps Therapy. I am passionate about helping individuals navigate life’s challenges by identifying and building on their inner strengths to find meaningful solutions.
My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where clients can explore their emotions, build resilience, and experience personal growth.
Before pursuing my MSW, I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of South Florida. Alongside raising a family, I’ve held diverse roles—from corporate management to teaching prekindergarten. These professional and personal experiences have given me a unique perspective on the many joys and complexities of life.
As a therapist, I specialize in women’s mental health across every stage of life. From the identity shifts of early adulthood to the emotional impact of hormonal changes—through fertility challenges, pregnancy, postpartum, and menopause—I’m here to walk alongside you.
I support women navigating major life transitions such as:
Career and role changes
Family structure shifts
A child/loved one’s disability or neurodiversity diagnosis
Coping with anxiety, depression, trauma, loss, and grief—such as perinatal loss, empty nesting, or the loss of a loved one
I’ve received specialized training in perinatal mental health through Postpartum Support International, including advanced work in supporting families through pregnancy loss and grief.
Additionally, I have completed specialized training through the Star Behavioral Health Providers in partnership with the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, equipping me to effectively support service members, veterans, and their families. I provide culturally competent, evidence-based care tailored to the unique challenges of military life, including deployment, transition, and trauma.
I currently offer therapy both in person at our Ballantyne office and virtually for clients across North Carolina. I’m in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, and United Health Care.
Outside of the therapy space, I volunteer with my certified therapy dog, Renegade, as part of Invisible Paw Prints, providing comfort and support wherever it's needed in the Charlotte community.

We look forward to meeting you and working together to
start the journey to achieve your goals in therapy and life.
